The Banyan tree is considered holy and it is the national tree of India. Surprisingly, only about
150 Banyan trees remain in India as on 2020. One such Banyan tree is located on bank of
Hooghly in the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden. This crown of this 250
year old tree has a circumference of 486 m and 24.5 m high.
823 meters long Vidyasagar Setu, the longest cable-stayed bridge in India was opened in Oct
1992. This bridge was constructed to decongest Howrah (Rabindra Setu) bridge.
