a. Oriental region animal types.
Animals whose distribution areas are in the western part of Indonesia (the
Oriental region) have the following characteristics :
1. Various kinds of primates, for example in Kalimantan there are many types of
monkeys, such as : orangutans, tarsius, and bekantan.

2. There are large mammals, for example elephants in Sumatra, tigers, rhinos or
