believe one of the ‘Castle’ class of steam paddle ferry boats still
            operates somewhere on the British coast as I write.
               If when you do eventually read this tome and one of these
            beautiful craft is still operational, I can assure you it is worth
            travelling whatever it takes for the experience of an excursion.

                 Under  the main superstructure  you can view  the open
            engine room and as the smell of live steam surrounds you,
            watch spellbound as  the  main drive shafts  turn majestically
            powering the enormous individual paddle wheels encased in
            their protective housing on either side of the beautifully shaped,
            riveted iron hull and laid timber decks.
