            8.2  Driver Responsibilities at FTL


                •  To take reasonable care of themselves and other persons affected by their actions.

                   Driving the vehicle in a safe manner, so as not to endanger life, or damage the
                   vehicle or goods being transported. Be familiar with the operating instructions of the

                   vehicle being driven. If in doubt check the vehicle’s handbook and/or contact the

                   office for further clarification.
                •  The driver should ensure all loads are safely secured so as not to cause harm to

                   any other persons. When the vehicle has been loaded while the driver was not

                   present, the driver must check that the load has been correctly loaded/restrained
                   before departing.

                •  The driver must check the quantity and condition of any cargo loaded. Any
                   discrepancies must be noted on the CMR or collection note and advised to the

                   office staff without delay.

                •  If assisting in the loading of the cargo the driver must endeavour to lift items so as
                   not to cause injury to himself or others.

                •  To collect/deliver goods to/from the correct addresses within any agreed time
                   schedules, and at the same time ensuring goods are undamaged during transit and

                   reporting discrepancies and damage without delay.

                •  To check the vehicle as documented in the section of this handbook titled Daily
                   Vehicle Checks in Section 30 To report any vehicle problems without further delay

                   and to report any damage to the vehicle/trailer immediately.

                •  Completing the Worksheet and Defect sheet on R2C correctly on a daily basis.
                •  When travelling overseas complete the Immigration and Asylum Form shown in

                   Section Error! Reference source not found..

                •  To report any injury to the office without delay.
                •  To never consume any alcoholic whilst on duty.

                •  You must ensure that if you drink whilst off duty that you are in a fit and legal state

                   to drive and carry out your duties in time for your next working shift paying particular
                   attention to the alcohol limits for the country that you will be driving through.

                •  Wear your seat belt at ALL times whilst on duty in the cab of your vehicle this
                   includes any passengers.
