• Below is an example of a delivery note where this has happened. As you can see,
we declared 862 cases on the delivery note – the customer has signed for 800
cases in the signature / receipt box.
• The problem is that they do not always tell you and if you leave and the query
comes up later it is very difficult to check. So, check the number of delivery notes
and check the quantities to ensure they are correct. If there are discrepancies call
the office at the time and we can investigate. Normally its nothing sinister just a
change on the order or a miscount. Another good trick is when they tell you a
shipment is not on your vehicle / trailer. Again, call us before departing - often they
have unloaded and placed in their warehouse and forgotten where they have put it.
• Some Customers such as Tesco & Morrison’s issue their own delivery receipts,
these will be attached to FTL delivery notes and returned to you. The important
thing is to make sure that you have received the correct amount of notes back and
the quantity on the receipt note is correct.
