8.4 Security, Parking and Theft Prevention
8.4.1 FTL Depot and UK Deliveries
• Loaded Trailers at the depot will be Suzie
locked. You will be informed of where you
are delivering the next day and the trailer
number.
• Coupling tractor units to trailers overnight
may be allowed under certain
circumstances – please check and get
permission from management before.
• In the morning report to security to get the Suzie lock key to remove the lock and
also to collect trailer paperwork.
• All paperwork must be signed for – NO EXCEPTIONS.
• Check the trailer is sealed prior to departure.
• When pulling out of the yard, under no circumstances drive over the frontage of the
block opposite. There is CCTV, on the estate that monitors this. It is dangerous, not
necessary and upsets our neighbours .
8.4.2 UK Overnight
• If you have to park overnight always park in a location which is safe and secure. If
you are loaded overnight it is necessary to agree where to park with the operations
office. This is imperative to avoid thefts. We only consider a few sites in the UK as
being secure – you must check that the site is FTL approved.
8.4.3 Continent Overnight
• Whilst parked in transit in Europe it is recognised that drivers have no choice but to
park in recognised HGV parking areas (eg. Aires) These must be as well-lit and
secure as possible. If unsure contact the office who will be able to advise.
