            8.4.4 Vehicle Security

                • Keys are issued to drivers on commencement of employment and must be signed

for. It is your responsibility to ensure that they are kept safe whilst not in use. Your
vehicle keys are yours whilst in the employment. Whilst on annual leave please

check whether they should be returned. If you are long term sick arrangements will
be made to collect the vehicle keys. If the keys are lost or mislaid you must report to

the office immediately. We have spare keys which are identified with a yellow fob as

the spares, these will be issued if necessary, in an emergency.
                • They must be signed for both in and out.

                • It is imperative that management are informed so that they can decide a course of

                   action.
                • Under no circumstances can you have both sets of keys – we must have the spares

                   for servicing and relief cover.

                • Whilst we endeavour to have one vehicle / one driver, you must understand that the
truck will be serviced and used by others occasionally (annual leave/sickness etc)

We will inform you of servicing so that you can prepare your vehicle and remove
                   belongings as necessary.

                • All heavy items must be removed from bunks to ensure that they do not go through
the windscreen if the cab is tilted.

                • Your personal items must be removed when you are not driving your truck if you

would not like to lose them. For example, an expensive laptop/tablet should be
removed, however a pen or CD is probably not the end of the world. It is no good

saying that something is missing without some sort of proof of who may have taken

it. The amount of times that we have investigated missing items & keys only to find
they are found and had only been mislaid is too numerous to mention. Therefore, if

you take them with you it removes the element of doubt.
                • When not at FTL yard, Vehicles should not be left unattended other than for comfort

breaks. The truck must be locked at all times and the trailers sealed and the
                   numbers recorded.

                • All FTL vehicles are fitted with Dash cams and tracker units.

                • Please be aware that they are recording your GPS location for your and FTL’s own
                   safety and protection.
