            You can also be taken to court where you can:

                •  be banned from driving or riding
                •  get a maximum fine of £1,000 (£2,500 if you’re driving a lorry or bus)


            Fact

                •  You are 4 times more likely to be in a crash if you use your phone whilst driving.
                •  Your reaction times are 2 times slower if you text and drive using a hands-free phone
                    than if you drink and drive and this increases to three times if you use a handheld
                    phone.



            Employment Problems


            The use of hand-held mobiles or any device whilst driving is illegal and strictly prohibited
            under our Health & Safety and Handheld Devices Policy as it is extremely dangerous.

            Failure to comply with this is gross misconduct and disciplinary action will be taken.
