• Power driven gears shall be protected by complete enclosure on all sides. There must be no
openings which would allow any part of a person to come into contact with moving parts.
• Employees are not permitted to work on, or around, mechanical equipment while wearing
loose clothing, or items which could be caught up in moving parts of the equipment.
• All guards must be fitted to machines etc. so that a special tool is required to remove the
guard. Wing nuts are not acceptable. The doors on electrical panels are to be kept locked
and only defined COMPETENT persons are to have access to the keys.
