Mushroom Chicken on a Bed of Wild Rice
Ingredients and Prep:
1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder.
1/2 tablespoon of salt.
1/2 tablespoon of pepper.
2 tablespoons of butter.
1/4 cup of chicken broth or white wine.
1 cup/8-ounces of sour cream.
1 can of undiluted condensed cream of mushroom soup.
1 can mushroom stems and pieces (drained).
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves.
Hot cooked wild rice.
Sliced toasted almonds (optional).
Cooking Directions:
Melt a bit of butter in a in a large frying pan.
Brown both sides of the chicken in the frying pan.
Remove the chicken from the pan and place in a greased baking dish.
Combine the soup, sour cream, wine, garlic powder and mushrooms in a
bowl.
Add a dash of salt and pepper.
Pour the sauce over the chicken.
Bake uncovered at 375 F for approximately 20 minutes.
Serving Instructions, Tips & Variations: The chicken must be
thoroughly cooked through to the center before serving.
In place of wild rice, this dish can also be served with noodles or rice.
If desired, sprinkle almond slices over the chicken.
