rater. The readability test aims to ensure comprehensive comprehension
among all users utilizing these devices. In addition, she had fifteen students
complete a writing test whose goal was to assess how well the students'
writing scripts met the analytic scoring criteria as a manifestation of the test
and how consistently the raters interpreted the students' work.
a. Readability Testing
After revisions have been made and experts considered the
instrument valid, the next stage is to conduct a readability test. 42 fourth-
semester students, and two lecturers participated in the readability testing.
The findings of the readability assessment revealed that there were no
impediments arising from the quality of any of the devices.
However, students encounter challenges in comprehending the
content that pertains to the concept of "hedging language" in
argumentative texts, as presented in their student worksheets. This
difficulty arises due to the unfamiliarity of the information for the
students. Therefore, researchers and lecturers engage in discussions to
proactively anticipate this potential learning-related issue.
b. Preliminary Field Testing
Since the assessment rubric is a construct for assessing language skills in
language performance exams, preliminary field testing attempts to test the
item fit of the assessment rubric elements. Aside from that, this test
