Afl in writing has been the subject of numerous empirical studies,
specifically the impact of feedback, rubrics, and revision guide sheets
on students' writing performances. This earlier research allows the
concept of AfL to be integrated with different assessment approaches.
3) Assessment of Learning (AoL)
Unlike the two previous assessment approaches, assessment of
learning aims to recognize students' learning progress after the learning
process. Earl and Katz (2006) state that the AoL refers to strategies
designed to confirm what students already know. It demonstrates
whether or not their learning outcomes have met curriculum standards
or learning objectives that they have individually set, certifies students'
proficiency, and makes decisions about future programs or student
placements. Similarly, Berry (2008) defines the AoL as an assessment
to check whether the students have met the requirements. In general,
the term "Assessment of Learning" (AoL) pertains to gathering and
analyzing evidence of students' learning outcomes by predetermined
assessment criteria to assess the quality of their learning achievements.
