PINWHEEL COOKIES

         Ingredients

        VANILLA COOKIE CHOCOLATE COOKIE
        1 ¼ cup sugar 1 ¼ cup sugar
1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup butter
1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon salt
        1 egg 1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
        2 ½ cup flour 2 ½ cup flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cold milk 3 tablespoons cold milk

                                                                   2 ounces melted chocolate

        Instructions
Mix ingredients for the vanilla portion and then divide into two parts. Do the same
with the chocolate portion. Take one part of the chocolate and put between 2 sheets
of wax paper and roll out. Do the same to the vanilla dough. Then put the vanilla over
the chocolate while removing the wax paper and together onto new wax paper and

refrigerate over night. Reverse the vanilla and chocolate and do the same. Slice about
1/4 to 1/2 inch. Put onto greased cookie pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 10
        minutes.

The original recipe was from Sallie Snyder from Pine Grove, Pennsylvania. She gave
the recipe to Helen Alverta Hubler, my Nana. My Nana gave the recipe to me when I
was a teenager and I put it in my cookbook. I didn’t make it until I was married. The
recipe had to be adjusted and this is the final recipe. This is my grandson, Joe’s
        favorite cookie.
