MEAT LOAF
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 beated egg
1 ½ - 2 slices bread or 1/2 - 1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 - 2/3 cup milk
1/2 small onion minced
1 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and shape into 1 big loaf or
2 smaller loafs and place in pan. Bake for 1 hour or when you think it is done. You can
add some of the toppings before you bake and then put the remainder on half way
through the baking time.
TOPPINGS:
brown gravy
ketchup
tomato soup
Pick one topping to spread over the top of the meat loaf.
OPTIONAL:
tomato soup
You can add 3/4 can tomato soup to the meat mixture while saving some to spread
over the top of the meat loaf. However, reduce milk to a 1/4 of a cup.
I remember that this was the way my Mom, Herta Hubler made it for us. She would make
baked potatoes and peas to serve with the meat loaf.
