Caring for You
Breaks
GreenPoint Ag recognizes the value of refreshment gained from daily breaks where no work is
performed, and the employee can totally disengage from duties. To the extent practical, the manager
will approve breaks during each day, while maintaining the level of staffing required to meet customer
needs. Rest breaks should be recorded as time worked on your time record.
Break Time for Nursing Mothers
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) allows employees to take reasonable, paid break time to express
breast milk as needed for up to one (1) year after the birth of a child. GreenPoint Ag will provide a
private space for you to express milk (near the work area), other than a bathroom, which is shielded
from view and free from intrusion from co-workers and the public.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Holidays
While work makes up a large portion of each of our lives, GreenPoint Ag believes that time away from
work is important to maintain life-balance and quality performance. It is with this in mind that we offer
several time-off benefits. The information below provides information on those benefits and how to
request the time off when it is needed.
Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for the holidays listed below. If a holiday falls on a
Saturday, the preceding Friday will be used to observe the holiday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the
following Monday will be used to observe the holiday.
The particular day(s) observed will be determined by the leadership team and consist of the following:
• New Year’s Day • Thanksgiving Day
• Memorial Day • Day after Thanksgiving
• Independence Day • Christmas Eve
• Labor Day • Christmas Day
In honor and recognition of the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families, employees who
are active, retired, or prior military veterans will receive Veterans Day as a paid holiday each year.
Eligible employees will need to complete a Military Status Identification form and it be on file with
Human Resources.
Paid holiday hours will be paid as eight hours per holiday. If you are a non-exempt employee working on
a recognized holiday, you will receive time and a half for all hours worked, plus the holiday pay at your
regular hourly rate.
To be eligible for holiday pay, you must work, or have a scheduled and approved vacation, sick, or a
personal choice day, the workday preceding and the workday following the holiday.
If you are on Family Medical Leave or any other leave of absence type including short-term disability or
long-term disability, etc., your holiday pay benefits will be paused until you are able to return from
leave.
