Control of lifting operations / crane set up

• All cranes must be operated by trained CSCS
personnel
7.Lifting and Transporting Operations
• Ensure the lift plan is developed by the Appointed
person for cranes. The lift plan must be approved
by the PSCS.

• The crane will have its annual and 4 year
certification. All lifting accessories will have
certification.

• All cranes must be visually inspected after set up
and before each use and a recorded weekly
inspection using a GA2 form performed.

• The exclusion zone will be set up with barriers
and Signage & will adequate for the Planned lift.

• There will only be one lifting accessory on the
hook block.

• Appropriate tag lines will be used on all lifts.
• The air horn will be activated prior too and during

the lift.
• The Slinger / Signaller will have a direct means of

communication with the crane operator.
