Slinging techniques

• All slinging for crane activities must be
carried out by a CSCS trained Slinger.
7.Lifting and Transporting Operations
• Under no circumstances are persons

permitted to sling equipment/material
when not trained to do so.

• Use the correct lifting accessories for the

job.

• All slings and lifting accessories must be
visually checked before each use to

ensure no damage present. Weekly
recorded inspections must be kept on site
file.

• All lifting accessories must be certified

every 6 months and tagged and
certificates kept on site file for inspection.

• If you see incorrect or bad

slinging/rigging techniques report it to a
supervisor straight away. Example: using a

synthetic sling
