The conclusion is that the ultimate goal of traditional

education is to achieve happiness in the world and the
hereafter which is a manifestation of surrender to Allah.

As has also been explained, the Minang custom after the

Padri war (1837) is a custom that has experienced syncretism
with Islamic teachings. In accordance with the traditional view

that adat is based on syarak, syarak basandikan Kitabullah
contains the notion that adat is built on the basis of religious

laws, while the basis of religious law is Kitabullah which is
the most important reference in Islamic teachings. Therefore,

the description of the basic and objective of Minang traditional

education cannot be separated from the basis and purpose of
Islamic education. As previously explained, the purpose of

human creation in general on this earth is to serve and
surrender totally to Allah as a means of achieving happiness

in the life of the world and the hereafter. Submission to Allah
and achieving happiness in life in this world and in the

hereafter can be translated into a term liqa, meeting or seeing

the face of Allah. As Allah says in Surah al Kahf verse 110:
                                         ۚ
                              ْ ٰۤ
                                              ٰ
                                                                ُ ۠
                                                    ٰ
