"And whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do
good works, and do not associate God with
anyone."(Surat 18: 110)
Liqaor meeting God does contain different
interpretations, some interpret liqa to see God's face in the
hereafter, then there are those who mean liqa to meet God in
the world, namely in the sense that the grace, bounty, and
blessings of God that are obtained by humans during their life
in the world. The world is the embodiment of the encounter
(liqa) with Allah. If a common thread is drawn from the two
opinions above, then the encounter with Allah can be
interpreted as all the graces, gifts, and favors that Allah has
given to humans while living in this world and in the hereafter.
Therefore, education in the Minang tradition aims to form a
balanced growth of the human personality in all aspects, both
spiritual, intellectual, physical, scientific and linguistic, both
individually and in groups.
In addition to basing their teachings on Islam, Minang
customs base their teachings on the real world. This is clearly
seen in the understanding of the takambang nature as a teacher,
and accompanied by the interpretation of the nature by the two
traditional gatherers which is manifested in customary
