According to Hakimy, nature and its laws are used by
traditional gatherers as a source of inspiration and knowledge,
which are usually used as thoughts to regulate human life. So in
the doctrine conveyed through poetry and literary forms using the
provisions of the properties of nature.
The traditional gatherers, since their ancestors first realized
that this wide open nature must be studied both in form and in
nature. At the beginning of the development of Minangkabau
culture, especially before the entry of Islam, the ancestors of the
Minang people had succeeded in discovering the natural provisions
that existed in the real world (shari'a nature). And from empirical
experience, the Minang people have found natural provisions that
can be used as metaphors for human nature, such as choppy oceans,
chirping magpies, reeds with books, water fertilizing.
The following is a simple example of discovering the
nature of objects that are part of nature.

The hill is the same as climbing
Bulek aia pabuluah deck
Spherical water due to vessels (bamboo)
