Furthermore, Idrus Hakimy explained:
It is a stipulation in Minangkabau custom that carefully
studied developed nature is a source of knowledge and
materials that can be used in regulating human life. And
this proverb is a proof that the ancestors of the
Minangkabau people used the universe as a source of
learning useful knowledge to regulate their society in all
fields.
Talking about the provisions of the developing world
(shari'a nature), of course that can be touched and seen
because before Islam entered Minangkabau, Minangkabau
ancestors were only able to know real natural provisions,
not to mention able to know about the nature of nature. The
provisions of nature we mean for example land, oceans,
mountains, hills, village heads, stones, water, fire, iron,
plants, animals, sky, earth, stars, sun, moon, colors, sounds
and so on. , which has its own terms. For example, when
the sea is choppy, the mountains are foggy, the village
heads are watery, the water is fertile, the fire burns, stone
and hard iron, coconuts with eyes, reeds with books, trees
sprout, rooster crows, magpie sings, eagle with skin, red,
