result of this competition, East Minangkabau became
important because of the pepper it had. The Umayyad dynasty
which was continued by the Abbasid dynasty was getting
stronger, finally trade was more monopolized by him than
China,
After the Singosari kingdom (1222–1292) became
strong in Java, the king Kertanegara (r. 1268–1292) sent a
Pamalayu expedition to East Minangkabau, this expedition was
greeted with the friendship of two Minang princesses namely
Dara Petak and Dara Jingga sent to Kertanegara. Before the
envoy reached Singosari, King Kertanegara died because of a
rebellion by Jaya Katwang. But after that Jaya Katwang was
killed in a fight by Raden Wijaya (r. 1293 – 1309) who used
the tactic of joining the Mongol army of Kublai Khan. After
the two Minang princesses arrived in Singosari, they found that
Raden Wijaya had become king in a new kingdom called
Majapahit (1293 – 1478) as the successor to the Singosari
kingdom,
There are many opinions about the life of Dara Jingga,
Dara Petak's sister, but it is clear that in the expansion of the
Majapahit area, under Ratu Tri Buana Tungga Dewi (1328–
1350) he sent Adityawarman (reigned 1347–1375) as king in
East Minangkabau (Darmasraya).
