Islam is the nature of Minang land.
In the middle of this chapter, it has been explained that in
the four types of adat, two of them, namely adat nan savanna adat
and adat adat (both called adat with dead knots) cannot be changed,
because the substance is natural law or in Islam it is called
sunatullah and only God alone can change it. While the other two
types of adat are very permissible to change, this shows that
Minang adat is:
First, fundamentals; On very basic matters, namely
something that is contrary to sunatullah, adat is very specific, it
will not give room to accept these changes.
