a body called the "Kerapatan Nagari", one of its members

is appointed as the leader who will run the nagari
government. Second, there is a change in Minangkabau

customary norms. Before Islam was influential in

Minangkabau, Minangkabau customs were the highest
source in regulating various aspects of people's lives.

These customary norms are interpreted from natural
phenomena. Therefore, these regulations only concern real

or mundane problems.
One of the impacts of the Marapalam agreement, which

formed the three main forces in the leadership of the furnace tigo

sajarangan, was the growing influence of Islam in society, so that
the adat community underwent a change, namely from "adat

basandi syarak, syarak basandi adat, to Adat basandi syarak, syarak
basandi book of Allah.". This means that custom relies on religion,

religion relies on the book of Allah, the Qur'an and Hadith.
A prominent change in the social structure of the Minang

community is the leadership system. In the old system, the nagari

was led by a ruler who was chosen by the density of the nagari, and
after peace, the leadership of the nagari must contain three

elements, namely religion, custom and scholars. So that the
