used are indirect. Besides the value of beauty, it also contains
nobility of mind and deep thought, philosophical values that
require deep interpretation because of the universal values
contained in them.
Furthermore, according to A. Rifa'i Yogi: "That the high
and low value of a nation's literature is to show the cultural value
of the nation itself and at the same time show the high and low

character or character and small talk of a nation that has it".
It is stated above that to get to know the culture of a nation
can be through the literature owned by that nation with a tendency
that the higher the literary value of a nation, the higher the cultural
value of that nation.
The thoughts of Minang traditional gatherers are generally
contained in literary forms that contain deep values and meanings
that need to be interpreted, whether they are in the form of rhymes,
seloka, talibun, gurindam, kaba, proverbs, petitih, proverbs,
mamangan, pituah, pameo, allegory etc. If traditional literary
works are read in passing without any depth, then the meaning
contained in them cannot be understood. Therefore, to understand
a proverb, Minang adat petitih or the like, one must explore the
author's thoughts, compare it with several other thoughts and know
Minangkabau history and customs, because in adat thought or
