is  executed  appropriately.  Therefore,  he  recommended  that  teachers  should  perform  the  first

               reading, as teachers' reading makes it more memorable and understandable for learners, he also
               insisted that teachers should practice reading before conducting the lessons. When students listen

               to their teachers reading the poem, they develop an understanding of what they listen to and allow
               learners to engage more.


               Variety of teaching aids

               Based on the results of figure 21, two (28.6%) Student teachers used picture books and games to

               teach poetry lessons. This idea was supported by Maley and Duff (1989) in the literature review

               of this study where they stated that there are several ways to prepare students mentally for the
               targeted poetry like using images and recording students’ reactions.


               4.3.22  Advice given by student teachers to help learners who struggle to understand poetry

                       analysis
               Here the respondents gave their recommendations to learners that are struggling to understand
