Abstract
The mediation system is the Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Thai judicial
system that is beneficial to parties in dispute. It helps parties to settle disputes more quickly

and conveniently with less costs and time spent on any case It also helps maintaining
sound relations between the parties Besides, the mediation system is useful for judicial

administrative processes of Thai courts more practically because pending cases can be

settled or dismissed prior to the farther judiciary proceeding This not only ends judicial
disputes voluntarily of agree parties, but also reduces caseloads needed to be forwarded

to the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court.
However, Thailand has been plagued with the Covid-19 global pandemic since
early 2020, which has affected the traditional Face- to- Face Mediation System. The

President of the Supreme Court and the Court of Justice have, therefore, approved to

adopt the utilization of the digital information technology (IT to the judicial mediation
system to facilitate online negotiations for conciliation of concerned parties The initiative

is themed “the Court of Justice Care Amid Covid-19 Pandemic”.
The Thonburi Civil Court has also adopted the digital IT system to its judicial

mediation practice, themed “Mediation From Home”. The online mediation system has
been well embraced by parties in dispute, thanks to its convenience amid the deadly viral
outbreaks and mandatory restrictions.

In the real practice, there are, nonetheless, operational challenges found in the
online judicial mediation system This paper has, thus, gathered the challenges with
