Can you give me an advice regarding

               my wife’s condition?

Director Choi: Good morning, doctor! Can you give me an advice regarding my wife’s condi-
                  tion?
Doctor: Well, you have to be very extra careful of her diet. Watch closely her blood pressure and
                  continue on giving her medications.
               Director Choi: I understand, Doctor.
Doctor: If her blood pressure reading is greater than 140/90, you have to give her medication at
                  once.
Mrs. Choi: Is it true that I’m not supposed to work on pressure and be stressed out again or
else my baby will be placed in danger again?
Doctor: Exactly, Madam. Pre-eclamptic mothers shouldn’t be allowed to work especially if they
                  are on their 3rd trimester.
Mrs. Choi: Are you saying that I should file a leave from office and just stay at home?
Doctor: Yes, high blood pressure reading due to hard work and stress could trigger the baby to
find a way out towards the cervix even it is not yet time for viable delivery.
Director Choi: Honey, let’s listen to the doctor’s advice, so we can keep you and our baby safe.
               Mrs. Choi: Yes, Honey.
Director Choi: What kind of food should I best serve her?
Doctor: Fruits, vegetables, bread, non-greasy and non-salty foods should be a part of her every-
                  day diet.
Director Choi: How about exercise doctor, is she allowed any?
Doctor: Swimming with no physical exertion and walking are the best exercise for her.
Director Choi: What should we consider upon her delivery?
Doctor: Since she has Pre-eclampsia, it is best for her to deliver on Cesarean Section because
her blood pressure should be monitored.
Director Choi: If I were to choose, I would love to have my baby be delivered here in your hos-
pital. Would it be fine with you if we get you as my wife’s Obstetrician and Gynecologist?
Doctor: That will be a great honor, Director Choi. Let us continue getting in touch when you go
                  back to Korea.

               1. How important is a doctor’s advice?

                  Sample answer:
The doctor’s advice is important because it can guarantee us a good health advice. If
we follow the rules set by the doctor, the medical treatment as well as the schedule for
follow up calls and check-up, there is no way that a patient couldn’t be well.
