be development. Bosses should never forget that.

1. You are addressing a meeting of area supervisors. You deliver the good news
that you are presently leading in the market. The challenge now is to main-
tain this lead. Discuss the following.
a. Get suggestions on how the lead can be maintained.
b. How can a bigger lead be attained?

Sample answer:
Good day to all! I’m very happy to tell you the good news that we are now number one
in the business! Of course, this would not have been possible without your significant
contribution. We are truly very happy about this lead, but this is not enough. We can-
not be content and afford to be lax. We are happy, but we should work to make this
lead stay. That is why the meeting today is devoted to suggestions on how we can
maintain the success that we have now. In fact, we can go a step farther and plan to
work for a wider lead from our next competitor. Again, we need suggestions for this
goal. Let’s start the ball rolling!

2. You now rank second in the market after being at a lower post for a long
time. You want to secure the top post. You think this is achievable through
the implementation of the following points. Share these suggestions to your
staff. You may add more.

a. Major product improvement
b. Getting a celebrity endorser

Sample answer:
Congratulations, team! Finally, after the long hours of work, we have achieved our goal
of getting a higher rank this cycle. We are now number two! We are very happy about
this development. This shows that we can achieve whatever we want as long as we set
our mind on it. This brings us to a more challenging goal – to be number one. I believe
that this is achievable if we can work together. We can begin our step to this goal by
working on a major product improvement. This will be handled by our creative team
and the production staff. This will be complemented by the endorsement of a celeb-
rity who can propel our product to greater heights. We also need suggestions from
