Quality control
Smith: As you know, we have had some breakdown problems with your older models. Will the
industrial
Robot, IR-1074 hold up in an extended period of time?
Yoon: With proper preventive maintenance, that should not be a problem, but of course, our ser-
vice engineer will make periodic inspections to make sure nothing goes wrong. Rest assured
that by purchasing our products, you will enjoy quality service and exemplary performance.
Of course, these go with durability and long-lasting efficiency.
Smith: Thanks for that assurance, Mr. Yoon! It’s good to know that we can bank on your prod-
uct’s durability. Nevertheless, we’ve been very impressed by your service engineer. He’s
extremely reliable and he sure does know his business.
Yoon: Well, our total quality control standards are very strict and that has always been our main
policy. Nothing leaves our plant unless it’s been 100% pre-tested. We take pains to protect our
good name in the business. You made the right decision by working with us, Mr. Smith.
1. What aspect of your service or product is quality control hard to ensure?
Why?
Sample answer:
It’s the stage in manufacturing where we assemble the spare parts of our products in-
side the mother board. This requires high accuracy and careful handling because our
spare parts are very sensitive. Once the spare parts are handled the wrong way, their
efficiency are not guaranteed anymore. This is also the stage that takes the longest
time to accomplish.
2. How do you achieve a high quality in your service or product?
Sample answer:
For this assembling part, we only rely on highly skilled manpower. They have been
trained to do the job well. We have a good number of these people to ensure that
there will always be replacements in case some people have to leave work. We also
recently acquired an expensive computer to double check if the assembling done is
indeed accurate.
3. How do you solve oversights regarding quality control?
