Unit 5

               It’s about the Anti-fraudulent transactions

JZ: Have you heard of the Announcement from the Operations Manager?
Camille: Yes. I heard it myself. It’s about the Anti-fraudulent transactions.
JZ: I feel something strange about this directive.

               Camille: What do you mean?
JZ: The campaign must be serious
Camille: I guess so. Everybody in the Customer Service Department were investigated.
JZ: Let’s not waste our time, then. We must get to our supervisor who knows more about this.
Camille: Yeah, it’s our right to know the full details of this Announcement.
JZ: What do you think is the reason why the Operations Manager had to make such action?
Camille: Well, I guess, it’s simply because they have found out something.

JZ: And what do you think was it?
Camille: It’s very hard for me to say, but I guess there should always be a proof behind every-
                  thing.
JZ: I still couldn’t imagine these things are happening.
Camille: We’ll admit or not, we’re basically rank and file employees. Whatever the Management
thinks is best for us has to be implemented.
JZ: Do you mean to say that the accusations for fraudulent transactions are true?
Camille: I guess so. Remember that a smoke always comes out from a fire.
JZ: Don’t worry, everything will be under control.
Camille: You’re right. Let’s go and ask our supervisor for the full details.

               1. How important are memorandums?

                  Sample answer:
It is very vital because it keeps everyone informed of what’s happening in the com-
pany. It is a formal way of informing the employees about announcements on the
job, events, new rules and regulations as well as bad news about the company and its
                  employees.

               2. Have you ever experienced unexpected announcements?
