1.  Your company has decided to back out from a deal with a business partner.
                  You have been tasked to do this. You are to present your company’s reasons
                  for backing out from the deal. The following are the reasons:

                 a. malfunctioning of sample products
                 b. Breaking of shipping agreements as stipulated in the contract

                  Sample answer:
                  I regret to inform you that our company has decided to cancel our contact with you. We hope
                  that you will understand why we decided so. First, we have experienced some item malfunc-
                  tioning that caused some delays in our business. We want to emphasize that we maintain a high
                  quality of service in our business. Hence, we cannot afford to have any product malfunction-
                  ing. We also discovered that you have violated some shipping agreements. We are not pleased
                  about this. All these reasons have made us decide to cancel our contract with you. We hope
                  that you will understand our situation. You would also do the same if you were in our shoes.

               2.  A client is planning to back out from a deal. Persuade him to continue with
                  the deal by citing the solutions to the problems that he has cited.

                 a. Item malfunction – repair or replacement
                 b.  Shipping  inconsistencies  –  correction  of  mistakes  and  enforcement  of
                  damage claims

                  Sample answer:
                  Mr. Yu, we know that there have been some oversights in our initial transactions. However, I
                  assure you that the problems will be solved as soon as possible. For example, we promise to
                  repair or even replace the malfunctioning items that you got. We are willing to do this, so that
                  you won’t feel any inconvenience in your business. You have brought up some shipping incon-
                  sistencies. We will double check on this matter, but even now, I can already assure you that we
                  will correct mistakes and help you if you plan to avail of damage claims. This deal is important
                  to us, Mr. Yu. I hope that you will reconsider. Thank you.
