2. How do you emphasize or highlight ideas in visual aids?
Sample answer:
Colors can be used to highlight terms and figures in visual aids; brighter, warmer col-
ors capture attention more easily. Enlarging the font or making selected text bold can
also help emphasize words or figures. Putting special characters or symbols may help
to.
3. How do you emphasize or highlight key points in an oral presentation?
Sample answer:
In an oral presentation, voice is the main thing that can be used to emphasize ideas; a
louder voice will naturally get attention. I also use stops and pauses after ideas I want
to emphasize to allow more time for my listeners to absorb the idea. I also supplement
my voice with my facial expression and hand gestures.
1. You are giving a talk to explain the steps undertaken by your quality assur-
ance team. You are making a power point presentation as well. How would
you highlight ideas in the power point and in the actual talk?
Sample answer:
I would use a flowchart with different colored boxes per step so the audience can
easily follow. To emphasize each process, I’ll have put in pictures for each step, which
would appear only when I click each step. It would be simultaneous with my explana-
tion. I’ll also use a bold typeface for words and figures I need to highlight. I would try
to speak louder when discussing critical points.
2. There’s a new water refilling station soon to be open. They are getting ready
to give out brochures for promotions. As an advertising critic, what can you
say about it?
Sample answer:
It has a very colorful design and concept. The use of water as the background empha-
sizes the content of the brochure. The images and fonts used are very enticing for the
consumers. The selling points of the new station are very well highlighted. Just a piece
of advice, it’s better to make it simple too. You must avoid cluttered designs so that the
reader will be able to focus on each of your features without getting distracted.
