Shipment

Yoon: The cargo should bear the logo, a triangle “Universal” mark. I hope you check that when
the crates are loaded, Mr. Park. That identification is very important.
Park: Of course, I can assure you that your company logo will be checked and only cargoes that
bear your company logo will be loaded into the ship. Take note, Mr. Yoon that shipment will be
arranged within 30 days of receiving the Letter of Credit. The cargoes will be loaded in Busan
and then, these will arrive at the New York port after the stipulated delivery period.
Smith: That’s fine. I’m okay with that. However, we do not accept both partial shipment and trans-
shipments. I hope you have anticipated this.
Yoon: I understand, Mr. Smith. And as I said, the payment should be made by draft at sight under
an Irrevocable Letter of Credit.
Smith: Don’t worry. We have taken care of such arrangements. That is Ok. We will do that! I hope
that you won’t let us down, Mr. Yoon. We depend on your delivery promptness.

1. What is the minimum order placement that you have for shipment?

Sample answer:
Shipment connotes a major deal for us. That means handling not less than 20 crates of ordered
items. We can’t go less than that.

2. What is the farthest place that you have shipped to?

Sample answer:
We have shipped to the Middle East and that was very challenging because we had to deliver
the items by land after they have been unloaded from the ship. The rest of our shipments have
US destinations.

3. How is your shipment service different from other shipment services?

Sample answer:
Ours is different because we provide the best service. We have several alternatives. We don’t
just rely on one course of action. We also have a very customer-friendly assurance service. How-
ever, our clients rarely use that because we always deliver promptly.
