Babad Diponogoro manuscript
The Babad Diponegoro was written by Prince Diponegoro in the Pégon script, which is
an Arabic-Javanese script. The original manuscript is now missing, but a copy stored in
the National Library of Indonesia is the only version that still survives in its original script.
Due to its importance in understanding the Javanese way of thinking and its unique
physical characteristics, which are found nowhere else in the world, this manuscript has
been designated a Memory of the World inscription by UNESCO in 2013.
Inscribed as the Memory of the World register in 2013
