ASIA AFRIKA
Conference Archives
Indonesia
The archives of the Asian-African Conference (KAA) are a unique and
irreplaceable treasure. It holds memories of the 29 countries that gathered
in Bandung in 1955, when the nations of Asia and Africa declared their right
to independence and self-determination. More than just historical records,
these archives provide a tangible picture of the struggles of developing
countries in the 1950s and bear witness to the birth of a turning point in
world history.
From that historic summit emerged universal values that remain relevant
today: peace, independence, freedom, prosperity, and internationalism.
The KAA archives serve as tangible evidence of the birth of the Non-Aligned
Movement and the spirit of solidarity among nations amid the tensions of
the Cold War. Preserving the KAA archives means preserving the
inspiration of the world, so that the spirit of Bandung remains alive and
continues to inspire future generations.
