Slice colour is a technique that also proves capillary action draws the
bleach up the hair to the scalp.
The reason that you take a zigzag parting is so that you do not get a hard
line where the whole section is bleached, yet the bleach is laid down in a
straight line 1cm from the scalp.
Once the bleach is washed off, capillary action has drawn the bleach to
the scalp where the tips of the zigzag parting touches the scalp, creating a
soft line that blends with the unbleached hair. (Fig 50.)
