Steering column assembly

Overhaul
1. Notes for the operation of steering column assembly (refer to “chapter 41 steering
mechanism-steering mechanism, notes”)
2. Remove the steering wheel (refer to “chapter 41 steering mechanism-steering wheel,
overhaul”)
3. Remove the combination switch assembly (refer to “chapter 41 steering
mechanism-combination switch assembly, overhaul”)
4. Remove the ignition switch assembly (refer to “chapter 81 vehicle control system-ignition
switch assembly, overhaul”)
5. Remove the regulating handle
(a). Loosen the bolt and take down the check
washer.

(b). Loosen the nut and take down the
regulating handle.

6. Remove the left limit bracket
(a). Loosen the bolt and take down the left
limit bracket.

7. Remove the right limit bracket
Hint:
The steps for the removal of right limit bracket are the same with those for the left one.
