10. Checking A/C main relay
(a) Check A/C main relay R36.
Standard values:
Use a multimeter Specified
Condition
to connect pins value
Normal 1 - 2 Continuity
Apply supply
voltage between 3 - 5 Continuity
pins 1 and 2.

Are check results normal?
Yes > Go to step 11.
No > Replace A/C main relay.

11. Checking ECM

(a) Replace with an ECM known as trouble-free one.
(b) Turn on A/C system and check if compressor works.
Is check result “working”?
Yes > Replace ECM.
No > Go to step 12.

12. Checking harness

(a) Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the harness between pin 5 of A/C main relay R36
and pin 1 of A/C compressor.
Resistance: ≤2Ω
(b) Use a multimeter to measure resistance to ground of pin 5 of A/C main relay R36.
Resistance: >1MΩ
Are check results normal?
Yes > Replace compressor.
No > Replace harness.
