Fuel-Fuel filter
Replacement
1. Releasing fuel pressure (refer to “Chapter 11 Fuel, Precautions”)
2. Disconnecting battery negative cable
3. Disconnecting fuel filter harness
(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors of fuel
filter harness.
Tip:
There is usually dirt on the fuel filter harness
connectors. When they are difficult to
disconnect, you can lightly tap them for several
times with an appropriate tool before the
operation.

4. Removing fuel filter element
(a) Remove fuel filter element by twisting
it counterclockwise with a filter
wrench.
5. Checking fuel filter holder
(a) Check fuel filter holder for such defects as cracks, scratches, or noticeable damage. If any of
above defects is found, replace with a new fuel filter holder and go to steps 6 and 7.
6. Removing fuel filter holder
(a) Loosen fuel inlet pipe joint nut of fuel
filter.
(b) Loosen fuel outlet pipe joint nut of fuel
filter.
