Front axle-steering linkage
12. Installing steering knuckle arm
(a) Check steering knuckle arm for deformation, bending, cracks, and other damages.
If any of above defects is found, replace with a new steering knuckle arm.
(b) Connect steering knuckle arm with left
steering knuckle.
1051 series and 1061 series models:
• Using hammer and copper bar, knock on
steering knuckle arm to install it onto left
steering knuckle from behind.
• Tighten the 2 hexagon slotted nuts, and
insert the 2 split pins.
Torque: 230~280 N•m
Notice:
Be sure to replace with new split pins.
Tip:
After tightening, return approx. 30° to align split
pin hole with left steering knuckle nut notch.

1089 series models:
• Using hammer and copper bar, knock on
steering knuckle arm axially to install it
onto left steering knuckle from behind.
• Tighten the nut and curl to lock.
Torque: 230~280 N•m
Notice:
Be sure to replace with a new nut.
