Rear axle- Rear wheel hub with brake drum assembly
13. Check the rear-axle housing deformation
(a). Measure the shaft journal worn at the end of the half-axle bushing.
Wear: ≤ 0.08 mm
Replace with new rear-axle housing if the worn is beyond the limit range.
(b). Measure the verticality of the half-axle bushing shaft journal on both sides based on the
front end of the rear-axle housing.
Verticality: ≤ 1.5 mm
Calibrate if the verticality is beyond the limit range and replace with new rear-axle housing
if necessary.
(c). Check whether cracks are on the welding positions of the half-axle bushing and the rear-axle
housing and worn at the shaft journal of the wheel hub oil seal, and then calibrate or replace
if necessary.
14. Check the rear wheel hub
(a). Check whether the rear wheel hub has cracks or loose screw.
If the defects above are found out, replace with new rear wheel hub.
(b). Check the wear of the inner and outer bearing support necks of the rear wheel hub.
Standard: The inner and outer support necks of the rear wheel hub shall be coordinated
with the outer ring of the inner and outer bearings closely without looseness.
If the coordination between the support necks and the outer ring of the bearings are loose,
calibrate them and replace with a new rear wheel hub if necessary.
(c). Check the end face runout of the joint surface between the rear wheel hub and the half axle flange.
End face runout: ≤ 0.15 mm
Replace with a new rear wheel hub if the end face jumpiness is beyond the limit value.
15. Check the rear brake drum
(a). Check the wear of the rear brake drum, replace with a new one if necessary.

16. Connect the left rear wheel hub and the
brake drum
(a). Screw down the 6 nuts, and connect the left rear
wheel hub and the brake drum.
Torque:
Vehicle Torque
1051 series 287 ~ 346 N•m
1061 series 396 ~ 480 N•m
1089 series 396 ~ 480 N•m
Notice:
New nuts must be replaced .
(b). Make three places of tooth density for each nut
to prevent them from loosening.
17. Connect the right rear wheel hub and the brake drum
Hint:
The steps for the connection of the right rear wheel and the brake drum are the same with those for the left rear
wheel hub and the brake drum.
