Klemheist Knot

Another variation on the Prusik knot that works well with a loop or sling of
soft tubular tape as well as thin rope. The top loop should be very short to
ensure a good grip. The turns must lay neat, snug, and, as always, test before

using. Tension should only be put in the one direction.

1 Lay a loop or strop of rope or tape across the main rope.
2 Wrap round and round up the main rope until there is a small loop left at the top.

3 Bring the main part of the strop up through the small top loop.
4 By pulling down the main part of the strop, the knot will grip round the rope. For the knot
to work successfully, it is important to start with a small top loop.
