The Rising Awareness of Reducing Urban "Cement Jungle"

Wild Duck Nature Park, Yuanshan Area of Taipei Expo Park, Machangding Memorial Park,
Indigenous People's Park, Yongfu Park( Zhongzheng No. 297), Zhishan Historical Park,

Government actively renovated the Tamsui River and design waterfront park to let the citizens
experience the importance of water conservation in the recreation, and therefore truly achieve
the goal of being both recreational and ecological. In addition, Taipei City Government
emphasized on the urban landscape greening, accelerated the construction of parks, green
spaces and waterfront parks in Taipei. The goal of 5 square meters of parks and green areas for
each citizen was set, and the “greening movement” of Taipei City was promoted. Taipei City

eliminate the gray shadow of "cement jungle", including the greening of the MRT elevated rail
section, expressways, pedestrian bridges, river embankments, and public buildings.
