WAKALAH

Introduction

Wakalah is refund of zakat money policy of MAIWP to
the entities paying zakat to Pusat Pungutan
Zakat-MAIWP to be distributed to eligible asnafs. Below
are the eligible entities to apply for zakat money refund:

i. Individuals
ii. Companies or Organizations
iii. Employers
iv. Higher Learning Institutions (IPT)

Terms and Conditions

1. Wakalah recipients serve as REPRESENTATIVES to
the Federal Territory Islamic Council (MAIWP) to
distribute the zakat to the eligible asnafs.
2. The zakat can be distributed to all categories of asnaf
EXCEPT AMILs.

3. The application for the refund is allowed for every
zakat payment made during the current year.

4. Each entity is eligible to apply the wakalah based on a
fixed refund rate for fixed zakat payment amount.
*The wakalah percentage rate eligibility is based on the
amount of zakat paid by the entity (please refer to the
following Refund Rate schedule).
