Who Should Rate?













                     Supervisors

                            Responsible for employee’s performance

                            However, often not at same location and unable to observe performance

                     360 Degree Evaluations

                            Rated by supervisors, coworkers, clients or citizens, other professionals, and subordinates

                     Subordinate Evaluation

                            Can assess the leadership, training and development of employees, delegations, etc. if they
                                work closely with supervisor

                            Subordinates may lack necessary training or have other motives when rating supervisors

                     Self Appraisal

                            This process is helpful because employees often are aware of performance constraints or
                                have received commendations for their performance that their supervisor does not know
                                about


                            May clarify expectations
