cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled
the tabernacle” (Exodus 40:35).
The cloud was the glory of God. Moses could not approach
the tent of meeting because it was filled with the cloud.
Actually, the cloud of God covered the Tent of Meeting. But
that day, the cloud had entered into the Tent of Meeting in a
full measure.
The glory of God descending in a cloud did not only
happen during the time of Moses. When the temple of
Solomon was completed, a similar phenomenon occurred.
Solomon could no longer worship, due to the cloud.
“So that the priests could not stand to minister because of
the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the
Lord“ (1 Kings 8:11)
As told, the cloud is the actual presence of God’s glory. The
cloud of God is sovereign and the authority is so holy that no
one was able to approach, or even withstand, its mighty pow-
er.
Ezekiel experienced a similar occurrence. As the presence
of God descended, the tem-ple began to fill with a cloud.
