buses/trains. Tour operators can also play a

role in directing tourist decision towards

                                    destinations and organizations with a

by offering motivation for sustainable Place

strategies by proving empirical evidence of

tourists‘ desire for ―slow travel‖, through

carbon alternatives‖ like ―land travel instead

The Place element in tourism helps in

                                    formulating the ―Total Experience‖ for

consumers. Rishi and Gaur (2012) explain that

―before deciding to stay in a luxury hotel,

customers today explore the total experience

that the property offers, in terms of,

                                    accessibility to popular markets, parking

spaces available at the hotel and even the ease

of hailing a cab from the hotel. Further a

repeat purchase, by a hotel guest, is not just

dependent on the stay experience at the hotel,

but also on the experience that the customer
