Certification Process
A report is generated to document issues/
comments that have been addressed and
issues/comments that remain open.
Stage 2 includes (on-site):
Registration Assessment – An auditor(s) performs
an in-depth and objective registration assessment.
The purpose of this audit is to document how the
company and its processes are in conformance to
the appropriate standard.
During the audit, non-conformances may be
identified. Non-conformances are documented and
are classified as major, minor or an opportunity for
improvement. The following are in general terms and
a given standard could define them differently (i.e.:
IATF 16949, AS9101).
A major non-conformance is the absence of, or the
failure to implement and maintain, one or more
required management system elements, or a situation
which would, on the basis of available objective
evidence, raise significant doubt as to the conformity
of the product or service that is being supplied.
Multiple minor non-conformities against a single
management system element or an issue from a
previous audit can be determined to be a significant
breakdown of a management system clause and can
be considered a major.
