You may choose to have any funny name, alias, combination of both or even make it

alphanumeric as an email address. There are no hard and fast rules concerning that, but
when it comes to creating an email address for employment purposes, it has to be formal,

and carry your real names or variants of it. Email addresses like
coolguy4real@yahoo.com, hotbabe247@gmail.com etc. could be good for ordinary

conversation with your friends, but with employment, you must be a bit serious and
official. Use your real names. For example, let us say your name is Chidera Obi Nkiruka,

it is advisable you choose an email address like: chideraobi.nkiruka@gmail.com,

chideraobi_nkiruka@yahoo.com etc. However, remember to keep it short and simple.
You do not necessarily need to type out all your names as an email address. Someone

may miss a letter out of it when re-typing it to send you a reply. If this happens, the
message will not come to you, it will go to a wrong address. Instead, you can make your

email address alphanumeric as in chidera.obi24@yahoo.com but avoid using weird
combinations. There are possibilities that the server may mistake applications from

weird email addresses as spam email and send it to the employers Junk email folder
               instead of the Inbox folder.

It is also common sense to avoid using unpopular emails services providers. While there
is nothing wrong with them, the question is why would you want to choose aol.com,

rocketmail.com, live.com etc. over Gmail.com and Yahoo.com which are more popular
and trending? If you do not have a Gmail or Yahoo mail, go and open one right away, it

costs you nothing. It is fine to use aol.com, live.com etc. for your normal daily informal

correspondences, but for jobs, I advise a yahoo mail or a gmail email address.

Another key point about emails is your password. Make it secure with alphanumeric
combinations, signs, and letter symbols or with combination of lower- and upper-case

letters. This way, it is difficult for hackers to guess it. However, a good warning is not to
choose what you will not remember. It can be emotionally traumatizing when you apply

for a job, and while your friends are getting interview invites, you cannot access your

email because you have forgotten your email password. It is wise to make it secure, yet a
simple combination of alphanumerics or a mix of upper- and lower-case alphabets with

               special characters.
